Effective date: August 4, 2026
Last updated: August 4, 2026
Welcome to Reflix. Reflix is provided and operated by Groot ("we," "us," or "our").
These Terms of Use form an agreement between you and us regarding the download, installation, access, and use of Reflix. Please read them carefully before using Reflix. By beginning to use Reflix, you agree to these Terms and the Reflix Privacy Policy. If you do not agree, do not use Reflix.

1. Nature of the Service
Reflix is a client tool that helps you connect to, manage, and play content from private media servers. It may also provide public movie and television metadata, images, ratings, trailers, viewing records, cross-device synchronization, and other supporting features.
Reflix is not a provider of movies or television content, a media-storage service, or a public content-sharing platform.
- You decide which media servers to connect, what your libraries contain, and what to play.
- Reflix does not provide, upload, sell, or rent movies or television content to your libraries, and does not grant you any content license on behalf of a copyright owner.
- We do not participate in selecting, obtaining, uploading, organizing, or distributing the contents of your private media libraries, and our operational servers do not receive, store, or review your media files or complete library catalogs.
- To carry out your instructions, the Reflix client installed on your device must read catalogs, metadata, and media streams supplied by your media server. Media traffic is ordinarily transmitted directly between your device and the server you specify, without passing through Reflix-operated servers.
- We do not actively inspect or learn the specific contents of your private media libraries and do not recommend, endorse, confirm the legality of, or warrant rights in any such content.
2. Eligibility
You must have the legal capacity required to enter into this agreement. Minors may use Reflix only with the consent and supervision of a parent or guardian. Parents and guardians are responsible for configuring content ratings, account permissions, and parental controls on media servers.
3. Software License
Subject to your compliance with these Terms, we grant you a limited, personal, non-exclusive, non-transferable, non-sublicensable, and revocable license to use Reflix on Apple devices that you own or control, in accordance with the Apple Media Services Terms and App Store usage rules.
Except where expressly permitted by applicable law, you may not:
- Copy, sell, rent, sublicense, distribute, or otherwise commercialize Reflix;
- Reverse engineer, decompile, disassemble, or attempt to obtain the source code of Reflix;
- Circumvent membership entitlements, purchase verification, security checks, access controls, or technical restrictions;
- Modify Reflix or create derivative works based on Reflix;
- Use automated means to interfere with the service, scrape data in bulk, or impose an unreasonable load on the system;
- Impersonate another person, misuse an account, or access another person's device, server, or data without authorization.
Open-source components are provided under their respective licenses; these Terms do not improperly restrict rights granted to you by those licenses.
4. User Media Libraries and Content Responsibility
You are responsible for all media content that you connect to, access, play, or send to a third-party player through Reflix.
You represent and warrant that:
- You are authorized to access each connected server and account;
- You own the relevant content or have obtained all authorization required to access, store, play, and use it;
- Your use does not infringe copyright, trademark, privacy, personality, or other third-party rights;
- You will not use Reflix for piracy, unlawful sharing, circumvention of digital-rights protection, or other unlawful activity;
- You will comply with the applicable terms of media servers, content sources, network services, and third-party players.
The technical ability to access content does not mean that you have obtained the legal right to do so. Installing Reflix, holding a membership entitlement, or being able to play content is not evidence of any content license.
If we receive a valid rights complaint, judicial order, or request from a competent authority, we may take necessary action as required by law, including providing information, restricting relevant online features, or terminating prohibited use. Because we do not host media files from your private server, we ordinarily cannot directly remove content from a user's server.
5. Server Accounts and Credential Security
You must protect media-server addresses, usernames, passwords, access tokens, your Apple Account, and device-unlock credentials. Losses caused by your voluntary sharing, device theft, misconfigured servers, insecure connections, or a third-party-service breach are the responsibility of the party legally accountable for the relevant cause.
If you enable iCloud sync, certain server configurations and connection credentials may be synchronized across your devices through Apple CloudKit. If you use smart recognition, pasted connection text is temporarily processed by online services as described in the Reflix Privacy Policy. You may enter the information manually instead of using that feature.
You may not use a leaked, stolen, or otherwise unauthorized server account. If an account or token may have been exposed, immediately revoke the token on the server, change the password, and remove affected devices.
6. Third-Party Services and External Content
Reflix may work with services including Apple, RevenueCat, Google Firebase, Cloudflare, TMDB, Trakt, YouTube, Emby, Jellyfin, Plex, and third-party players.
Third-party services are operated independently by their respective providers. Their content, functionality, availability, accuracy, security, pricing, and data processing are governed by their own terms. Except where the law provides otherwise, we cannot guarantee that a third-party service will remain available and are not responsible for a third party's independent modification, suspension, rate limiting, discontinuation, or data errors.
Publicly displayed titles, descriptions, images, ratings, trailers, trademarks, and other materials may come from third parties and remain the property of their respective rights holders. Reflix does not warrant the accuracy, completeness, timeliness, content rating, or suitability of third-party metadata.
7. Intellectual Property and Attribution
Intellectual-property rights in Reflix software code, interface design, brand names, icons, text, and other materials created by us belong to us or the applicable licensors. These Terms do not transfer any ownership to you.
Movies, television programs, artwork, subtitles, audio, trademarks, and other content in a user's private media library belong to their respective rights holders. Reflix does not claim ownership merely because such content is displayed or played.
Reflix uses TMDB and its APIs to provide certain public movie and television data and images:
This product uses TMDB and the TMDB APIs but is not endorsed, certified, or otherwise approved by TMDB.
Rights in the TMDB name, marks, and data belong to their respective rights holders. Other third-party names and marks also belong to their respective owners; mentioning them does not imply sponsorship, endorsement, or a partnership.
If you believe that a Reflix-owned page, public online feature, or material under our control infringes your rights, send a notice to help.reflix@gmail.com that includes:
- The name and contact information of the rights holder and any authorized representative;
- A description of the work or right allegedly infringed;
- The location, link, or identifying information for the allegedly infringing material;
- A statement that you own the relevant rights and that the notice is truthful and accurate;
- A signature or other evidence required by applicable law.
Do not send another person's account password, media-server access token, or private information unrelated to the complaint.
8. Memberships, Subscriptions, and One-Time Purchases
Reflix may offer auto-renewing subscriptions, free trials, and one-time purchases. The products, prices, periods, trial eligibility, and entitlements shown on the purchase page and Apple's confirmation interface control.
8.1 Auto-Renewing Subscriptions
- Apple charges your Apple Account when you confirm the purchase;
- The subscription renews automatically unless you turn off auto-renewal at least 24 hours before the end of the current subscription period;
- Apple generally charges the renewal fee within 24 hours before the end of the current subscription period;
- You can manage or cancel the subscription in your Apple Account subscription settings;
- Deleting Reflix does not automatically cancel a subscription.
8.2 Free Trials and Offers
Free trials, introductory promotions, and other offers are available only to users whom Apple determines are eligible. At the end of a trial, it automatically converts to a paid subscription at the price shown on the purchase screen unless you cancel within the specified time. Apple makes the final determination regarding offer eligibility, region, price, and duration.
8.3 One-Time Purchases and Lifetime Membership
"Lifetime membership" is a one-time unlock. It means that, while Reflix continues to provide the relevant version and features, the Apple Account that purchased the product may use the Reflix membership entitlements listed on the purchase page. It does not mean:
- Permanent access to any third-party movie or television content, media server, or external service;
- That third-party services, data sources, or players will remain available forever;
- Ownership of Reflix or any third-party content;
- That we must indefinitely maintain a feature that depends on a third party or can no longer lawfully or technically be provided.
We will not revoke a lawfully acquired one-time entitlement without cause. If a feature must be adjusted because of legal or security requirements, discontinuation of a third-party service, or force majeure, we will provide an explanation and a feasible alternative where reasonably possible.
8.4 Refunds and Family Sharing
Apple handles purchases and refunds under its own rules. You may request a refund through Apple's official channels. Family Sharing availability depends on the product configuration, region, and Apple rules.
9. Updates and Service Changes
We may provide bug fixes, security updates, feature adjustments, or compatibility updates. Some features may change because of operating systems, devices, media-server versions, third-party APIs, legal requirements, or security considerations.
We use reasonable efforts to keep core features available, but do not guarantee uninterrupted or error-free service or compatibility with every server, media format, network environment, or third-party player. You should maintain reliable backups of your media files and server configuration.
10. Privacy
We handle information in accordance with the Reflix Privacy Policy, which forms part of these Terms. You should read the applicable disclosures before adding a media server, enabling iCloud sync, using smart recognition, sending feedback logs, or purchasing a membership.
11. Disclaimers
To the maximum extent permitted by applicable law, Reflix is provided "as is" and "as available." We make no express or implied warranty, including warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, continued availability, absolute security, data accuracy, compatibility, or non-infringement.
In particular, we do not warrant that:
- Content in a user's private media library is lawful, accurate, safe, or suitable for viewing;
- A connected server, network, subtitle, media stream, or third-party player will remain available;
- Every media format, codec, digital-rights-management scheme, or server version can be played;
- Third-party metadata, ratings, artwork, trailers, and release dates are completely accurate;
- Using Reflix will be free of network interruptions, data conflicts, or viewing-progress discrepancies.
This section does not exclude consumer rights, product liability, or other statutory responsibilities that cannot lawfully be excluded.
12. Limitation of Liability
To the maximum extent permitted by applicable law, we are not liable for indirect, incidental, special, or consequential loss, including lost profits, lost data, service interruption, or lost business opportunities, arising from:
- Your inability to access or use Reflix;
- Content in a user media library, server failures, or account-credential issues;
- The conduct of third-party services, players, networks, or content sources;
- Unauthorized content use or infringement disputes;
- Your failure to use reasonable security measures or maintain necessary backups.
Where applicable law permits a cap on aggregate liability, our total liability for the same event will not exceed the amount you actually paid for Reflix during the twelve months before the event. If you paid nothing, the cap is USD 50 or the equivalent in local currency. This limit does not apply to intentional misconduct or gross negligence, personal injury, fraud, or any liability that the law prohibits us from limiting.
13. Responsibility for Breach
If you violate these Terms, infringe third-party rights, or use Reflix unlawfully, you must stop the relevant conduct and bear responsibility as required by law. To the extent permitted by applicable law, if your unlawful conduct or unauthorized use of content causes a third party to make a claim against us, you are responsible for the resulting reasonably substantiated losses, except to the extent caused by our intentional misconduct, gross negligence, or unlawful conduct.
14. Suspension and Termination
You may stop using and delete Reflix at any time. We may restrict relevant online features or terminate service if you materially violate these Terms, endanger service security, infringe third-party rights, commit fraud, or if the law requires us to do so.
Termination does not affect payments, rights, or obligations arising before termination, or provisions that by law should continue to apply. Subscription cancellation and refunds remain governed by Apple's rules.
15. Governing Law and Dispute Resolution
These Terms are governed by the laws of the People's Republic of China, without affecting any mandatory consumer-protection rights that apply in your region.
If a dispute arises, the parties should first attempt to resolve it through consultation by contacting help.reflix@gmail.com. If consultation does not resolve the dispute, either party may bring proceedings in a court with jurisdiction where the operator is domiciled, unless mandatory applicable law provides otherwise.
16. Changes to These Terms
We may update these Terms because of changes to features, third-party services, or law. We will communicate material changes through an in-App notice, an updated terms page, or another reasonable method. Where the law requires renewed consent, we will obtain it before the change takes effect.
If you continue to use Reflix after updated Terms take effect, you accept the updated Terms. If you do not agree, stop using Reflix. Entitlements already purchased remain subject to the disclosures made at purchase, applicable law, and Apple's rules.
17. Other Terms
If any part of these Terms is held invalid or unenforceable, the remaining provisions remain in effect. Our failure to exercise a right immediately does not waive that right.
Apple is not the provider of the Reflix service described in these Terms, but as the App Store platform provider it may have applicable rights under the Apple Media Services Terms and any applicable standard end-user license agreement. Apple, App Store, and other Apple marks are trademarks of Apple Inc.
